I had a mean stomach bug on my first try so I stayed in camp while my friends summited. The second try worked out great though (except for forgetting my glacier goggles in the tent… oops.)

Providence Hospice of Seattle and The Safe Crossings Foundation lent me their huge Camp Erin flag for both of these climbs. The flag touched the top of Mount Baker twice before being flown over Camp Erin King County in the summer of 2010.

I’m convinced that Ueli Steck is a robot sent from the...

I’m convinced that Ueli Steck is a robot sent from the future to make us all look weak.

The water bottle design that you voted for on Twitter and...

The water bottle design that you voted for on Twitter and Facebook is finally ready!

Oops!

Fear not, I’ve been keeping Facebook updated frequently with the latest news, summits and adventures. Click here to visit the Zero to Everest Facebook page.

To make up for the lack of blog posts, the site has been completely revamped and moved to Tumblr. This will make it MUCH easier for me to post frequent photos, links, videos and updates.

There’s a lot of upcoming events so be sure you’re subscribed on Facebook or Twitter to find out the latest!

Here is the online version of the article that ran in the...

Here is the online version of the article that ran in the January edition of The Journal: Heart Takes Young Man From Zero to Everest

Here’s a compilation I put together of some of my photos from the past few months. It was exciting to see my story on the cover! I’d like to say hello to all of the readers and point out a few small errors in the article.

First off, while I did attend Edmonds Woodway High School and the Running Start program, I did not receive a high school diploma. I was often considered the “smart kid” but a serious lack of motivation led me to dropping out my senior year. Things have since changed for me. There are a few quarters of college under my belt and I also plan on pursuing a GED.

My sister Taeana’s father, Warren, passed away at the age of 49, not 48. I believe I said the wrong age during the interview.

Lastly, the article states that I run with a 30-40 pound pack, but I only hike with that weight. Running while carrying that amount of weight would greatly increase the risk of severe injuries such as fractures and Achilles rupture.

Having cleared those things up, the article in the Edmonds Beacon is very well researched and provides some great information about Camp Erin. Keep a watch on the Facebook and Twitter pages for more information as things move forward. Thanks for reading!

Facebook and Twitter

From Zero to Everest now has a Facebook page!
